Absolutely nothing terrifyingly Orwellian about this then.
I think the key issue here is about creep in terms of use.

That, I think, is very very optimistic. My hunch is that they will start to be used for all kinds of silly purposes, and then we’ll basically end up in CCTV-drenched classrooms, which brings in all kinds of problems.
